Safety Boat (2 Days)

The Safety Boat course is designed for people who already hold the Power Boat Level 2 course.

It provides the skills and knowledge required to provide rescue cover, escort boat duties or coaching or teaching duties for a fleet of dinghies, windsurfers, canoes or kayaks, or other water users.

The course includes boat and equipment preparation, lots of practical rescue scenarios involving different water users and other background information.

This course assumes a basic knowledge of dinghies and windsurfers and participants must be over 16 years of age.  It is particularly suitable for water sports centre workers and sailing club members who take on rescue duties.

*Please note that if you would like to receive the RYA Certificate, courses must run at an associated RYA Recognised Training Centre.

These courses are run as private or group bookings only with maximum participant numbers dependant on the boat used.  They can be run at any suitable location in Scotland.
