Keelboat Sailing Levels 1 – 3 (2 Days each)

Suitable for small yachts and day sailors, Collective Training’s Keelboat Sailing Courses will take you from complete novice to competent sailor following the RYA’s tried and tested, world renowned syllabus.

Sailing in the Firth of Clyde on a Keelboat Sailing CourseAdult Keelboat Sailing Level 1 introduces essential skills and wind awareness that will be required throughout all levels of sailing as well as some important background knowledge.  By the end of this course you will be able to leave from and return to a mooring or pontoon and sail a keelboat in light conditions, with some help from an instructor.

Adult Keelboat Sailing Level 2 progresses from Level 1, introducing essential practical techniques and more in depth understanding of theoretical information and safe practice including the use of engines.  This course will teach you to sail a keelboat competently without the help of an instructor in good conditions.

Adult Keelboat Sailing Level 3 is about consolidating the skills learnt in Levels 1 & 2 and gaining experience.  You will improve your seamanship skills and confidence in rougher conditions and start an introduction to the 5 further modules that make up the advanced programme.

These courses are run as private or group bookings only with a maximum of 3 participants per course.  They can be run at any suitable location in Scotland.
