These Etape Caledonia Training Rides follow the route of the famous closed road bike race around stunning scenery in the Highlands of Scotland.
Come and find out why this beautiful part of Perthshire is chosen to hold the race, or to get some training in for next year’s event!
We have a couple of rides planned, 2 weeks ahead of the big day and on the Monday before, to ensure you can get to know the route in advance, and be fully prepared for what is to come!
With one of our very experienced guides, who've competed in the Etape many times, you'll tackle the full 130kms/81 miles of route, heading around both Loch Tummel and Loch Rannoch, completing all climbs and taking in all the spectacular views along the way!
We'll adapt the speed to the ride to suit the group, and or the weather on the day; but we'll have a few stops for refreshments and an all important coffee! These preparation rides are ideal for first time entrants or less experienced riders, looking to gain some confidence and do a recce with someone who's been there before and knows all the things to look out for.
We'll start and finish at Pitlochry rugby pitches, where the majority of competitors are parked, meaning you'll emulate the actual day as closely as possible, all be it with a more civilised start time! This can also be reached easily from Pitlochry Train Station so you can happily spend a day riding amazing roads through beautiful scenery without using a car at all!
Collective Training’s Etape Experience rides are ideal for a private group booking too, take a look at our Private Road Cycling Coaching to find out more! They are subject to a maximum of 8 riders.
