First Aid for Hospitality (SQA/HSE)

Our specific First Aid course for the hospitality industry.

As a hotel manager, HR or Training manager in the hospitality industry, you will probably have some questions relating to fulfilling your First Aid requirements and Duty of Care.  A large hotel may have a large and varied team including managers, chefs, waiting and bar staff, housekeepers, receptionists, a maintenance team and ground staff, spa workers and porters to name a few.  Then there are outside contractors and events teams to think about, before you've even considered your guests!

We realise that all this can seem a bit daunting especially when you have plenty of other things to think about, so we've made it easier for you.

Anna Boag, Senior Training Specialist, The Old Course Hotel"Prior to facilitating the course, Tom from Collective Training was keen to gain a practical insight into the different roles and responsibilities of all participants, enabling him to present information in such a way that was meaningful and relevant to all concerned and ensuring we arranged the correct courses.

Feedback from staff who attended the Emergency First Aid and First Aid Refresher training facilitated by Tom was outstanding. In particular, the relaxed yet highly informative training style and practical, hands-on approach meant that not only did participants find training engaging and fun, all left feeling genuinely confident and self-assured about putting their skills into practice should a first aid incident occur. I would highly recommend."

Small to medium sized hotels usually find that they need a certain number of people to complete an Emergency First Aid at Work (6 hour) course.  While bigger hotels sometimes require a small number of staff to complete a full First Aid at Work (18 hours) course as well.

To help your staff feel confident in the years to come after their course, we can also return annually and deliver a Basic Skills Refresher to make sure that everything is fresh in their minds and they remember what to do in an emergency.  Lasting just 3 hours, this course is non compulsory, but highly recommended by the HSE and ensures that you are fulfilling your duty of care as completely as possible.

All of our First Aid training courses are certified by ITC First Aid. They are HSE Approved and SQA Accredited. The certificate remains valid for three years.

Please contact Collective Training if you would like to discuss your requirements for a First Aid for Hospitality course.  Prices are dependant on the number and type of courses required, with all extras mentioned above included!  We can deliver a course at any suitable venue across Scotland and beyond!

Check Collective Training’s First Aid at Work Course Calendar for public courses if you just need one or two places.

We will help you carry out a quick First Aid Hazard Assessment prior to your course to make sure you are getting what you need.  This will determine how many first aiders you should have and what courses they should do.
