This new 4 hour short course is designed for people who take part in a wide variety of sports and leisure pursuits such as: field and team sports, martial arts, dance and fitness instruction, personal training and community sports clubs.
Are you a football club coach or rugby referee, a personal trainer or Zumba instructor, do you organise a regular 5-a-side league? If you fall into any of these, or similar groups then this course is for you!
Crucially this is not just a Basic First Aid course with ‘Sport’ added to the title, but a specific course aimed at giving participants the confidence to make important decisions within an active environment.
Basic life support techniques AND assessment of injury/return to play decisions are covered; allowing you to meet your duty of care and make an informed judgement in a sometimes pressured environment.
SALTAPS; the framework for assessing injuries and making a cease or return to play decision forms the second part of the course. Further topics can also be added as required by each group as this course is normally run within the context of one club or activity type.

This 4 hour course includes a 15 minute break and can be run over one or two sessions to fit around your club member’s commitments. There is no assessed element to this course although it is certificated by the ITC, giving you a licence to practice of 3 years.
