Sports First Aid (OfQual Accredited) - 2 days

Sports First Aid Units 1+2 (14 hours).

Sports First Aid Courses apply essential first aid principles and life saving techniques to the recreational sports environment.

This course is designed for anyone involved in recreational sport: as a coach, instructor, personal trainer or regular spectator.

Most coaching awards now demand a minimum first aid qualification to remain valid.

If you already hold a valid First Aid Qualification, but need to ensure it is sports specific, you can attend just the second day (unit 2).

Please contact Collective Training if you would like to take this option.

As set out by OfQual guidelines, core content includes:

  • Incident assessment
  • Calling for help
  • Treatment of the unconscious casualty
  • CPR techniques
  • Dealing with bleeding
  • Contents of an outdoor first aid kit
  • Medical emergencies

Also included are sport related incident management decisions such as:

  • Stopping or returning to play
  • Spinal injury management
  • Management of head guards
  • Helmets and gum shields
  • Soft tissue injury and ice decisions.

We can tailor the course to your specific needs or situation.  Athletics, team sports, indoor water sports, racquet sports, disability sports etc can all be covered.

Sports First Aid Courses are certified by ITC First Aid.

They are OfQual Accredited and the certificate remains valid for three years.
