ITC Certificate in Outdoor First Aid Units 1 + 2 (16 hours)
The full ITC Certificate in Outdoor First Aid 2 day Course equips the outdoor sports enthusiast, outdoor worker or National Governing Body outdoor sports instructor with the skills and techniques required to deal with a first aid incident in a remote and potentially hostile environment.
A flexible, environment specific course, the content can be related to any outdoor situation and adapted to the needs of the client.
This course is recognised as a suitable level of qualification for most outdoor instructor qualifications including ML Summer and Winter, IML, WGL, SPA, MIA, MIC, British Mountain Guide, RYA, BCU, SMBLA, CTC, Local Cave and Mine Leader, BASI etc.
Theoretical training and practical scenarios are used together and are based on being in remote locations, potentially several hours from help.
The first unit is Emergency First Aid Skills, which is integrated into the second day with more in depth first aid and practical outdoor scenarios. The Emergency First Aid Skills unit can also lead to a qualification suitable for Emergency First Aid at Work purposes, meaning that you may be able to gain two qualifications on one course! Certification for this can be arranged at the end of the course if requested. Please advise us when booking if you would like to take this option.
As set out by SQA guidelines, core content includes:
All of our Outdoor First Aid Courses are certified by ITC First Aid.
